Wolverton
Wolverton is a town in Buckinghamshire, England, within the City of Milton Keynes. It lies about two miles northwest of Milton Keynes town centre and developed in the 19th century as a railway town. The locomotive works at Wolverton, established by the London and North Western Railway in the 1830s and expanded in the following decades, was one of the earliest large-scale depots and became a major employer. The works and the associated railway infrastructure spurred the construction of housing, schools, shops, and other amenities and gave the town a distinctive industrial heritage that is still visible in its street patterns and older buildings.
