Wntproteiineja, often referred to as Wnt proteins, are a conserved family of secreted signaling molecules that play critical roles in embryonic development and tissue homeostasis in multicellular organisms. These proteins are essential for regulating a wide array of cellular processes, including cell proliferation, cell differentiation, cell fate determination, and cell polarity. The Wnt signaling pathway, triggered by Wnt proteins binding to their specific receptors, is highly conserved across animal species, highlighting its fundamental importance in biology.

The Wnt family comprises a diverse group of proteins, each with distinct functions and expression patterns. These proteins are secreted from cells and act in a paracrine or autocrine manner, influencing neighboring cells or the secreting cell itself.
