Winepreserved refers to methods and technologies used to maintain the quality and extend the shelf life of wine after a bottle has been opened. Once a bottle of wine is exposed to air, a process of oxidation begins, which can degrade its aroma, flavor, and color over time. Winepreserved aims to minimize this oxidation and preserve the wine's characteristics for a period, allowing for consumption over several days rather than immediately.

Various techniques exist for wine preservation. One common method involves reducing the amount of oxygen in the bottle. This can be achieved through vacuum pumps that remove air from the opened bottle, creating a partial vacuum. Another approach uses inert gas preservation, where a gas denser than air, such as argon, is injected into the bottle. This inert gas forms a protective layer over the wine's surface, preventing oxygen from coming into contact with it. Specialty stoppers and sealing devices are often employed in conjunction with these methods to maintain the seal and prevent leakage.

The effectiveness of winepreserved methods can vary depending on the type of wine, the duration of preservation, and the specific technique used. Red wines, particularly those with higher tannin content, may withstand oxidation better than lighter-bodied white wines or sparkling wines, which lose their effervescence quickly.
