WinRE

WinRE stands for Windows Recovery Environment. It is a minimal Windows-based environment designed to diagnose and repair problems that prevent Windows from starting normally. Built into Windows, it can be launched automatically after boot failures or manually via installation media, or through recovery options available at startup.

WinRE provides a set of recovery and troubleshooting tools, including Startup Repair to fix boot problems,

The recovery environment runs from a Windows image file named Winre.wim, stored on a dedicated recovery partition

Administrators can manage and customize WinRE using the reagentc command-line tool. Reagentc can enable or disable

Limitations exist: if the recovery partition is damaged or the boot configuration is severely corrupted, WinRE
