Welsh Argentine refers to a person of Welsh origin or descent connected with Argentina, or to the community in Argentina descended from Welsh emigrants. The most prominent Welsh-Argentine community arises from the 19th-century Welsh settlement in Patagonia, known as Y Wladfa.

In 1865, a group of Welsh immigrants aboard the ship Mimosa established a colony in the Chubut River valley near Puerto Madryn. Over the following decades, settlements grew in towns such as Trelew, Gaiman, and Dolavon, forming a distinct Welsh-speaking pocket within Argentina. The colony was motivated by a desire to preserve Welsh language and culture while integrating into Argentine society.

The settlement established churches, schools, and cultural institutions to sustain Welsh language and traditions. The Welsh language persisted for several generations, contributing to a bilingual heritage that is celebrated through cultural events and festivals. Today, Welsh Argentines maintain connections through bilingual education, heritage organizations, and various community activities, with Y Wladfa denoting the historic core of their origins.

In contemporary Argentina, Welsh ancestry is part of the broader cultural landscape, with the strongest concentration in Patagonia. Welsh Argentines may be found in cities across the country, but the Patagonia region remains the central hub of the historic community. The term also encompasses descendants who identify with Welsh heritage while integrating into Argentine society.
