Welshspeaking
Welshspeaking refers to individuals or groups who use the Welsh language for daily communication and cultural expression. Welsh is a Celtic language belonging to the Brittonic branch and is one of the official languages of Wales. According to the latest census data, about 20% to 25% of the Welsh population are reported to use Welsh at home, with higher concentrations in rural areas such as North Wales, Ceredigion, and parts of Mid and South Wales. Significant Welsh-speaking communities also exist abroad, particularly in the United States, Australia, and New Zealand, largely as a result of historic migration.
