They verify voter eligibility under the applicable rules, issue ballots, and supervise the other members of the Wahlvorstand. After voting ends, the Wahlvorsteher coordinates the counting of ballots, helps prepare the official results, and signs the results documents. They are also responsible for maintaining order and resolving minor issues within the polling station and for communicating with the municipal election authority.
