Wadakanchery

Wadakanchery is a census town in Palakkad district in the Indian state of Kerala. It is located near to the city Palakkad and the Narasimhpuram railway station. The place is situated on the State Highway 22, connecting Palakkad to the nearby town of Othropoov village Thanisseri.

Wadakanchery is known for its rich cultural heritage and its temples. The Azhimokam Synagogue, a historic Jewish synagogue, is close to this town. The Biraworthuth Iravurringadweepam temple here is one of the historical temples in the region. The municipality is surrounded by the Bodhi woods and has several ancient temples such as the Peruvanam Paleswara Mahadeva temple, which are maintained by the temples' owners in the paddy fields.

Apart from its cultural significance, Wadakanchery also has a notable educational presence. Besides the schools and high schools, the town is home to the Krishna Memorial College of Law, Government Law College, and other institutions that offer a wide range of courses in various fields of study.

The municipality was constituted on August 1, 1953. As per the 2011 census, the population of the town was 33,295. Wadakanchery averages an elevation of 46 m (151 ft) above the mean sea level. Regionally, the area is known for its varied crops such as brinjals, spinach, Mangoes and sugarcane, and their existence ornament the diverse district stream hence student population of this Wadakanchery & schools are connected usually by two bus parks.
