A Wabenabschnitt is a segment of a honeycomb structure characterized by its regular, hexagonal pattern. The term is used both in apiculture and engineering, where the same geometric principle provides structural or functional advantages.

In beekeeping, a Wabenabschnitt refers to a section of a beehive’s internal comb. The comb is usually arranged in parallel layers of hexagonal cells, each cell housing brood, honey, or pollen. These sections can be individually removed, filled, or replaced, making hive maintenance more efficient.
