WFEO

The World Federation of Engineering Organizations, commonly known as WFEO, is an international non-governmental organization representing the engineering community on a global scale. Established in 1968, WFEO serves as a platform for engineers and engineering organizations to collaborate, share knowledge, and address challenges facing the world. Its membership comprises national engineering institutions and associations from over 100 countries, representing millions of engineers across various disciplines.

WFEO's primary objectives include promoting engineering as a force for sustainable development, fostering international cooperation among engineers, and advancing the ethical and professional standards of the engineering profession. The organization actively engages in initiatives related to disaster risk reduction, climate change, energy, education, and innovation. Through its committees and working groups, WFEO undertakes projects and publishes reports to inform policy and practice in these critical areas. It also plays a role in capacity building and knowledge transfer, particularly in developing countries, aiming to strengthen engineering capabilities worldwide. WFEO is an accredited observer to United Nations forums and collaborates with other international bodies to advocate for the role of engineering in achieving global goals.
