W203

The W203 is the internal Mercedes-Benz designation for the C-Class compact executive car produced from 2000 to 2007. It was the third generation of the C-Class and marked a significant departure from its predecessor, the W202, with a more rounded and modern design. The W203 was available in sedan (W203.033), estate (S203.233), and coupé (CL203.733) body styles.

Several engine options were offered throughout its production run, including a range of four-cylinder and V6 petrol engines, as well as diesel engines. Transmission options typically included a five-speed automatic, a six-speed manual, and later models offered a seven-speed automatic. The W203 featured a more advanced suspension system and a wider array of optional safety features compared to previous generations.

Inside, the W203 offered a more spacious and luxurious cabin, with a focus on comfort and ergonomics. It also introduced Mercedes-Benz's COMAND infotainment system as an option. The W203 was succeeded by the W204 generation in 2007. Despite facing competition from rivals like the BMW 3 Series and Audi A4, the W203 was a popular model and contributed to the C-Class's continued success in the compact executive segment.
