Võrkseadmeid, also known as network devices, are hardware components that connect computing devices to facilitate communication and resource sharing within a network. These devices form the backbone of modern networking, enabling everything from local area networks (LANs) in homes and offices to wide area networks (WANs) spanning the globe.

Common types of võrkseadmeid include routers, which direct traffic between different networks; switches, which connect devices within a single network segment and manage data flow efficiently; and hubs, which are simpler devices that broadcast data to all connected devices, though they are less common in modern networks due to their inefficiency. Network interface cards (NICs) are essential for individual computers and other devices to connect to a network, translating data into signals that can be transmitted over the network medium. Wireless access points (WAPs) allow devices to connect to a network wirelessly. Firewalls, often implemented as dedicated hardware appliances or software, are crucial for network security, controlling incoming and outgoing network traffic based on predetermined security rules. Modems are used to convert digital signals from computers into analog signals for transmission over telephone lines or cable lines, and vice versa, enabling internet connectivity. Together, these and other võrkseadmeid work in concert to create functional, secure, and efficient communication systems.
