Vätskebubbeltest, also known as the bubble test or liquid bubble test, is a simple and visual method used to detect leaks in sealed containers or systems. It is commonly employed in various industries, including manufacturing, plumbing, and electronics, as well as in household settings.

The principle behind the vätskebubbeltest is based on the physical behavior of gas escaping through a liquid. When a container or system under pressure is submerged in a liquid, any leaks will allow gas to escape. This escaping gas forms bubbles, which are readily visible against the liquid background. The size, frequency, and location of the bubbles can indicate the severity and origin of the leak.

To perform the test, the item to be inspected is placed in a shallow bath of water or another suitable liquid. If the item is pressurized, the gas will be forced out through any imperfections in its seal. If the item is not naturally pressurized, a gas or air source may be used to introduce pressure before submersion. Observing the submerged item for a period of time allows for the identification of bubble formation.
