Värähtelyjä

Värähtelyjä is a Finnish term that translates to "vibrations" or "oscillations" in English. In physics, it refers to a repetitive variation, typically in time, of some measure of a physical system around a central point. This central point is often a stable equilibrium. The phenomenon is fundamental to understanding many physical processes and is observed in a vast array of systems, from macroscopic objects to microscopic particles.

Examples of vibrations include the swinging of a pendulum, the buzzing of a tuning fork, the movement of a string on a musical instrument, and the oscillations of atoms within a solid lattice. Resonance occurs when the frequency of a forced vibration matches a natural frequency of the system, leading to a significant increase in amplitude.
