Vrahn is a fictional archipelago-nation in the northern seas of the world of Eldoria. The country comprises about eighty islands, featuring rugged volcanic coasts, mangrove swamps, and scattered highlands. Inter-island travel relies on ferries, coastal roads, and a limited rail line on the largest islands. The climate is temperate maritime, with mild summers and frequent fog throughout the year.

History and governance: Vrahn’s settlement stretches back to prehistoric times. It emerged as a unified polity in the post-classical era under the House of Miroth, consolidating competing clans through maritime trade. In the late 20th century, a peaceful referendum established a constitutional republic, with a president as head of state and a prime minister as head of government. The national legislature is unicameral, with elections every four years.

Economy and society: The economy is mixed, with principal sectors including fisheries, boatbuilding, and basalt quarrying. Services such as eco-tourism and software development are growing, supported by small research institutes and ports. The Vrahnian drach is the currency. The population is about 2.3 million, predominantly ethnolinguistic Vrahni, with minority communities speaking Kirani and other regional languages. Nauriq is the capital and largest city, serving as the main port and administrative center.

Culture and institutions: Vrahn maintains a maritime cultural identity, with shipbuilding crafts, folk music, and oral storytelling. The Night Tide Festival celebrates seafaring heritage.
