Voltagetension

Voltagetension is a term often used interchangeably with electrical potential difference, though technically "voltage" is the more precise scientific term. It represents the electric potential energy per unit charge, measured in volts (V). Essentially, voltage is the driving force that causes electric current to flow through a conductor.

Think of voltage like the pressure in a water pipe. Higher pressure (voltage) means water (charge) will flow with more force. Without voltage, electrons would not have the energy to move from one point to another, and thus no current would be generated. This potential difference can be created by various sources, including batteries, generators, and power supplies.

The concept of voltage is fundamental to understanding how electrical circuits work. It is the difference in electrical potential between two points. If there is no voltage difference, there is no current. This difference can be constant, as in direct current (DC) circuits, or it can vary over time, as in alternating current (AC) circuits.
