Vitautas, also known as Vytautas the Great, was a Grand Duke of Lithuania from 1392 until his death in 1430. He is considered one of the most significant rulers in Lithuanian history. Born around 1350, Vitautas was the son of Kęstutis, a prominent Lithuanian prince. He played a crucial role in the expansion and consolidation of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania during a period of significant geopolitical change in Eastern Europe.
