Virasekharas

Virasekharas was a prominent lineage of rulers who controlled the northern parts of the Vijayanagara Empire in South India. They rose to prominence during the 15th century and were instrumental in defending the empire's northern frontiers against various Deccan sultanates. Their capital was primarily located at Udayagiri.
