Viettel

Viettel, officially Viettel Group, is a Vietnamese state-owned multinational telecommunications and information technology company. It was established in 1989 as a military telecommunications unit and is controlled by the Vietnamese government through the Ministry of National Defence. Headquartered in Hanoi, Viettel is the largest telecommunications operator in Vietnam by market presence and offers mobile and fixed-line services, broadband internet, data services, and information technology solutions to individuals, businesses, and public sector clients.

Beyond Vietnam, Viettel operates international networks through subsidiaries and joint ventures, including Metfone in Cambodia, Unitel in Laos, Movitel in Mozambique, and Viettel Tanzania, among others. The group has expanded through greenfield deployments, acquisitions, and partnerships to reach markets in Asia, Africa, and the Americas, pursuing a strategy of regional and global growth.

In terms of technology, Viettel provides mobile networks across 3G, 4G, and 5G platforms in its home market and offers fixed-line, fiber broadband, data centers, cloud services, cybersecurity, and enterprise ICT solutions. It has invested heavily in network modernization and digital services to support government and commercial customers.
