Unitel is a telecommunications operator based in Chisinau, Moldova. It provides mobile telephony, fixed line, broadband Internet and digital TV services. Unitel was launched in 1997 as a subsidiary of Moldtelecom and became the first GSM operator in the country. It operates a nationwide coverage area that extends to remote villages and serves approximately five hundred thousand subscribers as of 2023. The service portfolio includes 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G services, mobile broadband, and value‑added services such as mobile payments and cloud computing.
