Videovalves
Videovalves, also known as video valves or cathode ray tubes (CRTs), are vacuum tubes used in the display of images and video. They were a key component in early television and computer monitors. The videovalve consists of an evacuated glass envelope containing an electron gun and a phosphorescent screen. The electron gun emits a beam of electrons that is directed onto the screen, causing it to emit light. By varying the intensity and position of the electron beam, different images can be displayed.
