Vibo

Vibo Valentia, commonly called Vibo, is a city and comune in the Calabria region of southern Italy. It is the capital of the Province of Vibo Valentia.

History: The site has ancient roots dating to Hipponion, a Greek colony later incorporated into the Roman world. In the medieval period it passed under various rulers, including Normans and Angevins. The modern municipality adopted the name Vibo Valentia, merging the ancient and medieval heritage.
