Ventilatable

Ventilatable is an adjective meaning capable of being ventilated; that is, able to exchange air with the surrounding environment or to be connected to a ventilation system. The term applies to spaces, materials, devices, and, in some clinical contexts, to patients or tissues that can undergo mechanical ventilation. As a general concept, ventilation seeks to regulate air exchange, humidity, temperature, and contaminant levels.

In architecture and building science, ventilatable spaces include attics, crawl spaces, wall cavities, and plumbing chases designed with openings or ducts to permit air flow and moisture control. The design of ventilatable components considers airflow rates, blockage risks, and energy efficiency.
