Vengerberg

Vengerberg is a city in the central lowlands of Eldoria, situated along the Lykos River. It serves as the capital of Valenmark Province and is a regional hub for administration, commerce, and culture. The city is known for its preserved medieval core, supplemented by later industrial districts and a modern service sector.

Vengerberg was founded in the 12th century as a river crossing and market town. It received a city charter in 1289, grew as a trading center under successive noble houses, and expanded with rail and manufacturing in the 19th and 20th centuries.

Today the city council, led by an elected mayor, administers local affairs in coordination with Valenmark's provincial authorities. The administration oversees urban planning, public safety, education, and cultural services through a set of specialized departments.

Vengerberg's economy combines services, light manufacturing, and logistics. The central railway station and river port connect inland markets with national and international routes. The city hosts a university campus, several research institutes, and a growing tech and creative sector.

Its historic core features the Stone Gate, the Clock Tower, and the Grand Market. Museums, theaters, and annual festivals reflect a tradition of crafts and arts. The city maintains several parks and a riverside promenade along the Lykos.

As of 2023, the municipal population stands around 95,000. The city hosts Vengerberg University and multiple primary and secondary schools, serving a diverse urban community.
