Vegetatsiooni refers to the plant life of a particular region or habitat. It encompasses all the flora, from tiny mosses and grasses to towering trees, that grow in a specific geographical area. Vegetation is a crucial component of ecosystems, influencing soil formation, water cycles, and atmospheric composition. It provides habitat and food for countless animal species, contributing to biodiversity.

The type of vegetation found in a region is determined by a combination of factors. Climate is a primary driver, with temperature, precipitation, and sunlight dictating which plants can thrive. Soil type and nutrient availability also play a significant role, as do topographical features like elevation and slope. Human activities, such as agriculture, deforestation, and urbanization, can also profoundly alter existing vegetation patterns.

Different types of vegetation can be broadly categorized. Forests, characterized by a dominance of trees, are found in areas with sufficient rainfall and moderate temperatures.
