Vedelikegaasid

Vedelikegaasid, often abbreviated as LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas), are flammable hydrocarbon gases derived from petroleum refining or natural gas processing. The primary components of LPG are propane and butane, though mixtures can also contain other hydrocarbons. Under normal atmospheric pressure, these substances exist as gases, but they are liquefied under moderate pressure or at low temperatures for easier storage and transportation.

The liquefaction process significantly reduces the volume of these gases, making them an efficient energy source. LPG is widely used as a fuel for cooking, heating, and in vehicles (autogas). Its clean-burning properties, compared to some other fossil fuels, contribute to its popularity. The storage of LPG is typically in specially designed pressurized tanks. Safety precautions are essential when handling LPG due to its flammability. It is often odorized with an additive to make leaks detectable. Its versatility and portability have made it a crucial energy resource in many parts of the world.
