Varalaturit

Varalaturit is a taxonomic family of extinct marine invertebrates belonging to the order Cystophorales. These organisms are primarily known from their fossilized remains, which are typically found in Paleozoic rock formations. The defining characteristics of varalaturit are their distinctive calcified exoskeletons, often exhibiting a complex internal structure. Fossil specimens reveal a range of morphologies, though many display a roughly spherical or ovate shape with the presence of numerous small pores or openings. The function of these structures is not fully understood, but hypotheses include respiration, nutrient absorption, or anchoring.
