Valimiskeskustes
Valimiskeskustes are polling districts or electoral districts established for the purpose of conducting elections in Estonia. These are the physical locations where voters cast their ballots on election day. The size and number of valimiskeskustes are determined by the electoral commission and are designed to ensure convenient access for all eligible voters within a given municipality or larger administrative unit. Each valimiskeskus is equipped with the necessary materials and personnel to manage the voting process, including ballot papers, voting booths, and election officials. Voters are typically assigned to a specific valimiskeskus based on their registered place of residence, although in some cases, provisions may be made for early voting at different locations or for voting by mail. The primary function of a valimiskeskus is to facilitate the secure and transparent casting and counting of votes, thereby playing a crucial role in the democratic process. Information regarding the location and operating hours of each valimiskeskus is made publicly available prior to each election to inform voters.
