Valdkondlik

Valdkondlik is an Estonian adjective derived from valdkond (field, sector) and the suffix -lik (pertaining to). It is used to denote something that relates specifically to a particular domain, sector, or area of activity rather than being general or cross-cutting.

In public administration and policy, valdkondlik describes strategies, plans, regulation and responsibilities organized by sector, such as sectoral development plans, budgets, or supervisory frameworks. A valdkondlik approach typically assigns tasks and objectives to a ministry or agency responsible for a distinct policy area, enabling focused governance and specialized expertise.
