Vackrare

Vackrare is the Swedish adjective vacker in its comparative degree, meaning more beautiful. It is used to indicate that one thing has greater beauty than another and is a standard way to express a relative distinction in appearance, aesthetics, or attractiveness.

The standard formation is to add the suffix -rare to the stem, producing vackrare. In sentences, it typically appears before the noun or after a linking verb, as in En vackrare blomma fängar mer uppmärksamhet, eller Bilen är vackrare än huset. In Swedish, the comparative form generally does not change for gender or number, so the same form is used with singular or plural nouns, though the rest of the noun phrase shows agreement (en vackrare blomma, två vackrare blommor; den vackrare bilen; de vackrare husen).

The corresponding superlative is vackrast, used to denote the most beautiful among a group, for example Den vackraste blomman i trädgården. In definite constructions, you may also encounter the form den vackraste, which serves the same meaning in longer phrases.
