Vaakumkeevitamisel, also known as vacuum brazing, is a high-temperature joining process used to create strong, leak-tight bonds between metal parts. It is performed in a vacuum furnace, which removes air and other contaminants that could interfere with the brazing process and degrade the joint. The process involves heating the base metals and a filler metal to a temperature above the filler metal's melting point but below the base metals' melting point. The molten filler metal then flows into the joint by capillary action, forming a metallurgical bond as it cools.

The key advantage of vacuum brazing is its ability to produce exceptionally clean and void-free joints. The vacuum environment prevents oxidation and contamination of the base metals and filler material, which is crucial for applications requiring high purity and integrity.
