Vaakumgrippers

A vacuum gripper, also known as a suction cup gripper, is a type of end-effector used in automation and robotics to grasp objects by creating a vacuum seal. These grippers consist of a suction cup, typically made of rubber or silicone, which forms a seal with the surface of the object to be picked. A vacuum is then generated within the cup, either by an external vacuum pump or an integrated ejector, which creates a downward force that holds the object securely.

The primary principle of operation relies on atmospheric pressure. When a vacuum is created inside the suction cup, the external atmospheric pressure pushing on the object becomes greater than the reduced pressure within the cup, resulting in a net force that grips the object. The effectiveness of a vacuum gripper depends on several factors, including the material and design of the suction cup, the smoothness and porosity of the object's surface, and the strength of the vacuum generated.

Vacuum grippers are widely used across various industries, including packaging, automotive, electronics, and food processing. They are particularly suitable for handling flat, smooth, and non-porous objects such as glass, plastic sheets, metal components, and food items.
