Võitlusspordiks

Võitlusspordiks is the Estonian term for combat sports. These are competitive sports that involve physical combat between two or more competitors, typically unarmed, though some may involve weapons. The objective of võitlusspordiks is generally to defeat the opponent through striking, grappling, or other means of incapacitation, according to specific rulesets.

The history of võitlusspordiks stretches back to ancient times, with evidence of various forms of wrestling, boxing, and other combat disciplines found in ancient civilizations like Greece, Egypt, and Rome. These early forms often had ritualistic or training purposes but evolved into organized sports over centuries.

Modern võitlusspordiks encompasses a wide range of disciplines.
