Värvusnäitajad, also known as color properties or color characteristics, are measurable attributes that define the appearance of a color. These properties allow for the objective description and comparison of colors, moving beyond subjective perception. The most fundamental color properties are hue, saturation, and lightness.

Hue refers to the pure color itself, such as red, green, or blue. It's what we typically mean when we simply say "color." Saturation, also known as chroma, describes the intensity or purity of the hue. A highly saturated color is vivid and pure, while a desaturated color is muted or closer to gray. Lightness, or value, indicates how light or dark a color appears. It ranges from black to white, with various shades of gray in between.

These three properties are often used in color models like HSL (Hue, Saturation, Lightness) and HSV (Hue, Saturation, Value) to represent and manipulate colors digitally. Beyond these core attributes, other color properties might include color temperature, which relates to the perceived warmth or coolness of a light source, and colorimetric values, such as CIE XYZ or sRGB, which are standardized systems used for precise color measurement and reproduction across different devices and media.
