Uzhorod
Uzhorod is a city in western Ukraine, located on the Uzh River. It is the administrative center of the Zakarpattia Oblast, one of the country's 24 regions. The city has a rich history, with its origins dating back to the 13th century when it was part of the Kingdom of Hungary. In the 15th century, it became part of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, and later, it was incorporated into the Habsburg Empire. After World War I, Uzhorod became part of Czechoslovakia, and in 1945, it was transferred to the Soviet Union, which later became Ukraine.
