Uzerli

Uzerli is a small village and municipality located in the Salyan District of Azerbaijan. The settlement lies in the southeastern part of the country, near the Kura River plain, and is part of the municipality system that governs local affairs within the district. According to the most recent census data, the population of Uzerli is approximately 550 residents, although earlier estimates placed the number around 400, indicating modest demographic growth over the past decade.

The history of Uzerli dates back several centuries, with documented references appearing in Ottoman and Persian records from the 17th century. Throughout the Soviet era, the village was integrated into agricultural collectivization schemes that emphasized cotton and grain production.
