Azerbaijans, commonly referred to as Azerbaijanis, are an East Caucasian ethnic group native to the South Caucasus. The core homeland is the Republic of Azerbaijan, where Azerbaijani is the predominant language and the majority of the population identifies as Azerbaijani.
