Ustawieniem

Ustawieniem is the instrumental singular form of the Polish noun ustawienie. The basic sense is the act of setting up, arranging, or configuring something, as well as the resulting arrangement. It originates from the verb ustawić, meaning to set up, arrange, or align.

In everyday use, ustawienie refers to how things are laid out in space. This includes furniture and objects in a room (for example, "ustawienie mebli" – the arrangement of furniture) as well as the placement of items on shelves or surfaces. In technology and engineering, ustawienie denotes configuration: the way parameters are set in a device or program, such as "ustawienie parametrów" or "ustawienie programu."

In sports and performing arts, the term describes positioning or formation. For example, "ustawienie drużyny" refers to the lineup or formation of players on the field, while "ustawienie sceny" means the setup or arrangement of the stage and equipment.

Colloquially, ustawienie can also indicate a setup in the sense of a trap or frame-up, as in "zostać ustawionym" (to be set up or framed by someone). This usage contrasts with its neutral sense of arrangement or configuration.
