UstIlimsk
Ust-Ilimsk is a city in Irkutsk Oblast, Russia, located on the Angara River, about 50 kilometers north of the Ilimsk fortress ruins. It is situated in Eastern Siberia, approximately 1,050 kilometers north of Irkutsk. The city's establishment is closely tied to the construction of the Ust-Ilimsk Hydroelectric Station, which began in the early 1970s. The settlement that grew around the construction site was granted city status in 1975.
