Usenetiin

Usenetiin is a decentralized information platform and protocol designed to preserve and disseminate threaded discussions across a network of independent nodes. It combines ideas from Usenet with contemporary peer-to-peer storage and cryptographic verification to provide long-term archival, provenance of posts, and access resilience even if centralized services are unavailable.

The name Usenetiin derives from Usenet and the notion of inclusion in a distributed space. The project defines an open standard with reference implementations and emphasizes interoperability among compatible clients and servers.

Architecture and features: content organized into topics called groups; within groups, threads and messages form a hierarchy. Each post is cryptographically signed by its author, and messages include metadata such as timestamps and group identifiers. Nodes exchange data via a gossip protocol, and content is stored redundantly using a distributed hash table or similar replication mechanism. Access can be offline-friendly and bandwidth-efficient, with optional encryption for privacy.
