Uroansarvi

Uroansarvi is a genus of extinct dromaeosaurid dinosaurs that lived in what is now Mongolia during the Late Cretaceous period. The name Uroansarvi means "tail shovel" in Mongolian, a reference to the perceived shape of its tail. Only one species, Uroansarvi minutus, has been described. This dinosaur is known from a partial skeleton that includes parts of the skull, vertebrae, ribs, and limb bones. It was a relatively small theropod, estimated to be around 1.5 meters in length.

Fossil evidence suggests that Uroansarvi possessed typical dromaeosaurid features, including a sickle-shaped claw on the second toe, though its exact proportions and prominence are not fully understood due to the incomplete nature of the fossil. Its teeth were small and serrated, indicating a diet likely consisting of small animals, insects, or possibly plant matter. The discovery of Uroansarvi contributes to our understanding of the diversity of small predatory dinosaurs that inhabited Asia during the Cretaceous. The exact phylogenetic placement of Uroansarvi within the Dromaeosauridae family is still under investigation, with some researchers suggesting it may represent an early or basal member of the group. Further discoveries are needed to provide a more complete picture of this dinosaur's anatomy and lifestyle.
