Urinocyta, or urine cell, refers to cells that can be observed in urine samples during microscopic or cytological examination. Most commonly these are epithelial cells shed from the urothelium lining the urinary tract, including urothelial (transitional) cells from the bladder and renal pelvis, with squamous cells typically originating from the distal urethra.
