Unterringe

Unterringe is a fictional municipality in Valoria, a land in the Alpine foothills. It lies in the Nordtal district, about 45 kilometers northeast of Valora City. The municipality covers 15 square kilometers and sits at elevations between 320 and 520 meters. The Ringenbach river flows through the valley, and dense mixed forests border agricultural meadows.

The first written record of Unterringe dates to 1250, and it grew from a small farming village around a medieval chapel. In the 19th century it developed small crafts workshops, and rail service arrived in 1895, tying the community to larger markets. The 20th century brought modest population growth followed by gradual stabilization.

Unterringe is governed by a nine-member municipal council elected for six-year terms. The mayor (Bürgermeister) chairs council meetings and represents the municipality externally. The current mayor is Eva Steiner (since 2020).

The economy is based on dairy farming, apple orchards, and small-scale manufacturing. Local tourism centers on rural hospitality, hiking in the surrounding hills, and the preserved old mill. Unterringe hosts a weekly farmers' market and a harvest festival in autumn.

As of 2023 the population is about 1,200 inhabitants, with a predominantly German-speaking community and a rising number of residents from neighboring regions. Notable landmarks include the Gothic St. Nikolaus Church (15th century) and the Unterringe Mill, a preserved watermill now used as a museum.
