Uksekontakte

Uksekontakte, often translated as door contacts or magnetic contacts, are simple yet crucial security devices. They consist of two parts: a magnet and a switch. One part is typically attached to the door frame, and the other to the door itself. When the door is closed, the magnet is close enough to the switch to activate it, completing a circuit. When the door is opened, the magnet moves away, breaking the circuit.

This change in the circuit is detected by a connected alarm system. The alarm system interprets the broken circuit as a sign that the door has been opened, triggering an alarm or notifying a security monitoring center. Uksekontakte are widely used in burglar alarm systems for homes, businesses, and other properties. Their primary function is to detect unauthorized entry.

They are passive devices, meaning they do not require external power to operate the contact itself, though the connected alarm system does. Their simplicity contributes to their reliability and low maintenance requirements. Installation is generally straightforward, involving attaching the two components and wiring them to the alarm panel. Uksekontakte can be wired or wireless, with wireless versions offering greater installation flexibility.
