USAS12

The USAS-12 is an automatic shotgun that was developed in South Korea by S.Korea Defense Industry. It is a 12-gauge shotgun designed for military and law enforcement use. The USAS-12 is a gas-operated, selective-fire weapon that can fire both semi-automatic and fully automatic modes. It is fed from a 10 or 20-round detachable box magazine.

The design of the USAS-12 is based on the Striker-12, a Danish shotgun developed in the 1970s. The USAS-12 features a rotating cylinder system and a robust construction to handle the stresses of automatic fire. Its design emphasizes reliability and a high rate of fire for its class.

The USAS-12 saw limited adoption by some military and police units, primarily for special operations or riot control scenarios where a high volume of fire was deemed necessary. However, its high cost, significant recoil, and potential for collateral damage in urban environments limited its widespread deployment. Due to its military origins and the regulatory restrictions on civilian ownership of automatic firearms in many countries, the USAS-12 is not commonly found in civilian hands.
