UMTScdma2000
UMTScdma2000 refers to a period in mobile telecommunications history where both Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) and CDMA2000 technologies coexisted and were widely deployed. UMTS is a third-generation mobile standard developed by the 3G Partnership Project (3GPP), based on the WCDMA (Wideband Code Division Multiple Access) air interface. It evolved from GSM and offered higher data rates and improved capacity. CDMA2000, on the other hand, is a family of 3G standards developed by the 3GPP2, stemming from the earlier cdmaOne (IS-95) standard. It also provided enhanced data capabilities over its 2G predecessors.
