U23B

The U23B is a model of diesel-electric locomotive manufactured by General Electric (GE). It was produced for both domestic and international markets during the 1970s and 1980s. The U23B was designed as a versatile road switcher, suitable for a variety of heavy freight and passenger duties. It featured a 2300 horsepower prime mover, typically the GE FDL12 engine, which was a 12-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine. This engine provided ample power for its intended applications.
