Täyskasvosuojaimia, known in English as full-face respirators, are a type of respiratory protective equipment that covers the entire face, including the eyes, nose, and mouth. This design provides a higher level of protection compared to half-face respirators because it seals the breathing zone completely, preventing the ingress of airborne contaminants through both the nose and mouth, as well as the eyes.

These respirators are used in environments where there is a risk of exposure to hazardous gases, vapors, or particulate matter. They are often employed in industrial settings such as chemical plants, manufacturing facilities, and laboratories, as well as in emergency response situations like firefighting and hazardous material handling. The comprehensive seal also offers protection against splashes of liquids and flying debris, making them suitable for tasks involving chemical handling or where there is a risk of impact to the face.

Täyskasvosuojaimia typically consist of a facepiece made of rubber or silicone that conforms to the wearer's facial contours, a transparent lens for vision, and one or more ports for attaching filters or cartridges. The filters are chosen based on the specific contaminants present in the environment. They can be equipped with either air-purifying elements that remove contaminants from the ambient air or supplied-air systems that provide clean air from an external source. Proper fit testing is crucial to ensure an effective seal and maximum protection.
