Társalgók, often translated as salons or drawing rooms, historically referred to toplevel rooms in large houses and public buildings intended for receiving guests. These spaces were designed to be comfortable and impressive, serving as a focal point for social gatherings, conversations, and entertainment. In aristocratic and wealthy bourgeois homes, the társalgó was a central element of the interior layout, typically located in a prominent position, often facing the main entrance or a garden.
