Tzetzes
Tzetzes is a genus of moths in the family Crambidae. The genus was established by Johan Christian Fabricius in 1794. Tzetzes moths are found in tropical and subtropical regions of Africa, Asia, and Australia. They are small to medium-sized moths with a wingspan of about 2 to 3 centimeters. The forewings are typically brown or grey with darker markings, while the hindwings are paler. The caterpillars of Tzetzes moths are known to feed on various plants, including grasses and sedges. Some species have been observed to cause minor damage to crops. Little is known about the specific life cycle and behavior of most Tzetzes species. Their ecological role is generally considered to be that of herbivores within their respective ecosystems. Further research is needed to fully understand the diversity and impact of this genus.
